According to Nationwide, the rate of annual house price growth slowed to 5.7% in March from 6.9% in February, making the average UK House Price roughly £232,000.
Their figures show that London was the UK’s weakest performer, with annual price growth falling to 4.8% from 6.2%. This is compared to the North-West of England, which saw prices up 8.2% and hitting a record high of around £181,000 – the highest rate of growth in the area since 2005.
It was found that prices in North-West England are rising nearly twice as fast as those in London.
